It appears that you have neglected to specify your nominal (Engl. "a[n]", "the"). While it is occasionally acceptable in modern standard American English to omit specifying a nominal, I do believe that, in the present case of "avatar", an "an" placed before the head would have been much more acceptable to this humble scholar. As my French teacher used to say: "No naked nouns!"
